      • Quetzal University Fund – Although not funded by the Rotary Club of Evergreen, the Quetzal University Fund (Q Fund) operates under a fiscal sponsorship agreement with the club and therefore the ISC has limited oversight responsibilities. At its peak in 2021, the Q Fund, had 43 indigenous, female students attending university in Guatemala.
      • Guatemala Indigenous Women’s Endowment Fund (GIWEF) – Established in December 2021 to provide annual grants to fund university scholarships for MAIA-Impact School graduates. Administered by the Evergreen Rotary Foundation and operates under the terms of an agreement with the Q Fund, which provided an initial gift to create the endowment. Designed to provide annual grants in perpetuity. The GIWEF provided an initial grant of $23,930 to MAIA for the 2022 academic year (later shifted to 2023). To date, three students have been helped with grant funds.
      • Atlas – The Atlas Program is a trial pre-MAIA program to provide necessary support for fifth and sixth grade girls to better prepare them for entry into the MAIA-Impact school. It fills many of the gaps in the public school system curriculum which is sadly lacking in the post covid era. It also includes support for mothers of these students. Atlas was initiated by students currently attending university with Q Fund scholarships, who wanted to establish their own mechanism for serving their communities and “pay forward” some of the benefits they themselves had received from the Q Fund Program.
      • AFS Study Grant – This is a separate Evergreen Rotary Foundation grant to support one MAIA student who will be studying in Canada for the fall semester of 2023 under an AFS Study Abroad Program scholarship.

  • Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee. This committee of over 20 members met monthly this year. We have worked with the ISC and CSC to support refugees, to fund the Peace Education and Action for Impact project in Ghana, and to support Ukraine through heavy blankets and portable power generators to hospitals in Kharkiv. We worked with the peace committee of the Conifer club to host a weekend workshop titled Empowering Compassionate Peacebuilding – a workshop in the art of Nonviolent communication. .
  • WASH Symposium – Evergreen Rotary Foundation as fiscal sponsor to this well-regarded event. Local and international speakers provided information and expertise on conducting international projects in water, sanitation and hygiene
